- Mentoring Canada: a not-for-profit informational site that provides resources and training to mentoring organizations and other charities. This site contains on-line interactive Training, along with a Library of downloadable materials.
- NetWits Think Tank: A place for Nonprofits to learn more about Technology, Social Media, Fundraising, and Industry Trends
- Nonprofit Blog Exchange: An online panorama of blogs related to the non-profit sector on topics ranging from using Google analytics to track non-profit website statistics, to facebook activism, to ways in which a website can improve an organization’s fundraising endeavours.
- Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group hosts a website containing a variety of articles directed to both nonprofit employers and nonprofit job seekers. Topics include resume development, job hunting, preparing for interviews, and negotiating salaries. There is also a job seeker newsletter with full archives available on the site.
- nonprofitbuzz offers free resources to anyone who leads, manages, staffs, supports, or volunteers for a nonprofit organization. On the site you’ll find resources such as templates and tools, as well as articles discussing current nonprofit trends.
- Peel Leadership Centre: a community collaborative whose mission is to cultivate, enhance, and support leadership in the nonprofit sector in Peel. But the centre’s website contains a wide array of leadership articles, resources, and links covering such topics as leadership renewal, innovation, diversity, and collaboration that are useful for everyone.
- RedPen 21 has fantastic free resources for media planning for non profits
- Risk Management and Governance Board (RMGB) “offers concise, informative guidance materials for boards of directors and senior managers. These guides provide a practical approach by which directors can work with senior management to fulfill their responsibilities to help their organizations meet the expectations of shareholders and stakeholders.”
- Satellite Account of Non-profit Institutions and Volunteering – Statistics Canada: This report contains descriptive analysis of the size, scope and nature of Canada’s nonprofit sector in economic terms, statistical tables and information on the concepts, and data sources and methods used to compile the estimates. It is the fifth in an ongoing annual series.

- Canada Revenue Agency – Charities and Giving – Includes information on applying and maintaining status, as well as other resources such as related links and a glossary
- Canada Revenue Agency Policy Statement on what is considered “political activity”
- Charity and Not-For-Profit Law – A web site maintained by law firm Carter and Associates of Ontario, providing articles and newsletters relevant to charity law in Canada.
- Globalphilanthropy.ca – “has general information of use to Canadian charities and non-profits but also tries to provide detailed information on the obligations of Canadian charities operating outside of Canada, for example in the areas of international development, humanitarian assistance, and education.” Home of Blumberg’s Non-Profit and Charities Law Newsletter

- A Primer on Online Fundraising for Nonprofit Organizations: Finding new audiences – Posted at TechSoup.org, which is another site you should check out when it comes to nonprofit resources.
- Finding the Funds You Need: A Guide For Grantseekers (PDF) – This 62-page guide covers the entire grantseeking process, including foundation and corporate support, preliminary research and research tools, and writing an effective proposal.
- Fundraising Authority is a website with a large number of fundraising articles geared toward small nonprofits, churches, and schools. Articles cover such topics as individual fundraising, fundraising ideas, volunteers, and strategy and planning. Also helpful is a section for beginners called Fundraising Basics.
- Grantpedia – This site is a free information and collaboration tool combining elements of a community powered database of funding sources, organizations, issues, and ideas, with unfettered public editing and input as well as discussion pages.
- Grantwriting Resources on the Web – A collection of grantwriting resources, especially useful for beginners, but good for all.
- Nonprofit Fundraising and Grantwriting at the Free Management Library
- Online Fundraising: A Startup Guide: 10 Online Fundraising Basics – at the nonprofit section of About.com, aimed at a US audience, but still has some useful tips
